OK.. so I got strongarmed into listening to this cd by my girlfriend the other day. I couldn't tell you any of the song names, but GOD DAMN can this girl sing. Of all the Mickey Mouse Club members, would-be members, whatever.. this is the only one that seems to have any actual vocal talent. Strong pipes from such a little girl. I happen to like her new nasty image too (your mileage may vary). Britney wishes she had 1/10 the voice.

It remains to be seen if she can break away from the rest of her genre (appearance over substance). I'd never actually buy or normally listen to music like this.. but I can certainly appreciate talent when I hear it.

I'd have to agree. I don't much care for the slutty image....her genre isn't something that I usually choose to listen to....but her voice is downright amazing. Of the group of bubblegummers that all appeared around the same time she is definitely the one with staying power provided she has good management. Give her good songs(no idea if she writes her own stuff) to lend her voice to and she will be around for a long time....unlike Britney who only has an average voice and relies on image to sell herself.

Britney's voice sucks...she hardly sings at all anymore, and you're right, her image is what makes her. Jessica Simpson started off ok, but has fallen on the image is everything as well...her last album the songs were so cookie cutter and her voice so blase that I forgot I was even listening to a CD....all of a sudden it was just over.

Christina does definitely have an amazing voice, definitely the best of the three by a MILE...I think her image is fine, she can dress (or not ) any way she chooses...and I do think I remember hearing that she writes at least some of her own stuff.

Wanna talk amazing voices... fiona apple, Jill Scott (big girl, he he), christina aguilera (even though I don't care for her 'image' either)... who else... hrm Oh, I like gwen stefani's voice, when you can actually hear her but, she doesn't really fall in the same category as the others. Natalie Imbruglia also... haven't heard of anything new from her for a while.

Its amazing how someone with such a great voice, can completely ruin it with something else. I mean come on, "dirty" ? No offence lol, but that was the worst piece of crap i have ever heard.

It really is such a shame, b/c Christina has a georgous voice that is being hidden but this slut facade (sorry to people who adore her! lol) :p Her earlier stuff really showed how talented she was musically speaking("reflection" ? was beautiful), but this stuff she has been comming up with (or her manager or whatever) is just not my cup of tea, no thx!

Oh and Britney, doesn't have a musical bone in her body lol :p I give her credit for being able to dance though!

This post reminds me of an example of Deductive Reasoning:

Deductive Reasoning

Neighbor 1: "Hi, there, new neighbor, it sure is a nice day to be moving"

New Neighbor: "Yes, it is and people around here seem extremely friendly"

Neighbor 1: "So what is it you do for a living?"

New Neighbor: "I am a professor at the University, I teach deductive reasoning"

Neighbor 1: "Deductive reasoning, what is that?"

New Neighbor: "Let me give you and example. I see you have a dog house out back. By that I deduce that you have a dog."

Neighbor 1: "That is right"

New Neighbor: "The fact that you have a dog, Leads me to deduce that you have a family.

Neighbor 1: "Right again"

New Neighbor: "Since you have a family I deduce that you have a wife"

Neighbor 1: "Correct"

New Neighbor: "And since you have a wife, I can deduce that you are heterosexual"

Neighbor 1: "Yup"

New Neighbor: "That is deductive reasoning"

Neighbor 1: "Cool"

Later that same day

Neighbor 1: "Hey, I was talking to that new guy who moved in next door"

Neighbor 2: "Is he a nice guy?"

Neighbor 1: "Yes, and he has an interesting job"

Neighbor 2: "Oh, yeah what does he do?"

Neighbor 1: "He is a professor of deductive reasoning at the University"

Neighbor 2: "Deductive reasoning, what is that"

Neighbor 1: "Let me give you an example. Do you have a dog house?"

Neighbor 2: "No"

Neighbor 1: "Then you are gay."

There is one other thing that would bring you to this conclusion. Posting that you like the new Christina Aguilera CD. Sorry, Elid - it is time to come out of the closet now!

Michelle Branch and Norah Jones are the best young (mainstream) female vocalists I've heard in a long while in the "pop" scene...

Aguleria was great when she started w/ Mulan soundtrack and some of her first album, then it all went downhill... she has bastardized her sound. :p

I really like Norah Jones myself....although I'd stick her more in the jazz/blues categorie. Great easy listening, soulful, mellow music and her voice is a terrific match to the style she plays.

That's right, I forgot about those two! ...some of Michelle Branch's songs I don't really care for but, for the most part, I like. :)

hehe. Blue Note is her recording label and has produced hundreds of amazing jazz albums. ;)

I'm a bit bias to those sounds, but oh well :)

yes =) (inductive goes from observation to creating a theory)

observation: you have a dog

theory: you are a heterosexual / gay

Whether it is inductive or deductive, it seems that you missed the point.

Mocking a joke doesn't mean I don't get the intended meaning.

The joke itself is funny, it just uses incorrect terminology and with the terrific power bestowed upon me as an undergraduate presently taking an intro to logic course, I decided to be an ass and point out what I did. So yeah.
