Sarah and I being interviewed by Space channel for the premiere of Zombie Night (they ended up not using any of it, their loss), and us in front of the movie poster (behind my left ear, you can see 3 zombies on the poster, the top one is Sarah).
Next I'll have pics of our Hallowe'en costumes...

Cool stuff Pete.
Who were your influences for makeup when you started out? Tom Savini, Rick Baker, Dick Smith etc? I was into makeup at one point. I remember buying Tom Savini's Grande Illusions years back. I never really got into it, but I loved the work those guys did back in the day.
Also what do you think about the Dawn of the Dead re-make coming out and do you think George Romero will finish his Twighlight of the Dead?

I never had any specific influences. Oddly, I didn't even like gore/zombie movies until recently. But it was around 1988 when I saw Nightmare on Elm Street and then a "Making Of" documentary right afterwards that got me interested in spfx makeup. I thought Freddy (the one in the original movie) was a great "movie monster" and I set out to be him for Hallowe'en. Every year since then, I just hacked away with various materiels, trial and error, a few instructional videos, until I eventually ended up here in school then working on films, but the whole way, there was never any one person that really influenced me, I just found doing the spfx stuff a lot of fun.
My prosthetics teacher was very cool though, I'd say he was more of an influence than anyone, but just in his composure and way of working more than his makeup style.
I have the Savini books and such, interesting to an extent, but more in the way of giving me ideas for how to do my own stuff.
My friend, the director of the zombie movie I did that just got a premiere, worked on the DotD remake, has a copy of the script which I'm going to read this weekend, but his word on it is "it sucks", nothing like the original, everything about it is bad news for fans.
As for Twilight, I'll ask him about that as well, he's spoken to Romero in person a few times, and probably has the inside scoop.
Other than that, expect much more cool stuff soon!

Yea I saw a preview for the Dawn remake on the net somewhere and it looked about what I expected. The film certainly doesn't need a re-make, but then they seem to be running out of ideas for new horror films these days.
