11 Oscars for ROTK. I am glad it won best picture. There is a few other pictures that I would have liked to see win some awards like City of God for photography and editing, Capturing the Friedman's for best documentary and Dirty Pretty things for best screenplay. Then those 3 are some of my favourites of 2003. Overall not bad choices, yet somewhat predictable.

I was disappointed to see Sean Penn get best actor. I thought he overacted like crazy and only received it because he got passed over on better roles in previous nominations.

I haven't seen Mystic River yet. It's on my want to see list along with Monster, 21 Grams and The Last Samurai. Did anyone see the Barbara Walters special after the awards? I am curious who she interviewed.

Definitely see The Last Samurai. I honestly wasn't expecting much out of it but it wound up being the best movie I've seen in years. Very emotionally intense.
