My it has come a long way. If only they hadn't butchered it in so many ways in the process.

But honestly, look at them, and you can see that a lot of the animation of them was retained, especially the spell casting stuff.

They actually got rid of that guy who did the original models, according to my faulty memory of a story I read several years ago.

The guy who did the new models had a web site showing some of his artwork and what he did for EQ.

By new I mean the launch models, not the Velious abortions.

I think you mean the Luclin abortions.

Anyhow, I had seen other screenshots of original pre-alpha eq models...and man, even then I couldn't imagine the stuff they originally had, it was so ugly. I think you showed me the ss's Tari..but no clue where.

I think Milo D. Cooper or something did a fair amount of the modelling in early EQ. He was primarily an animator, but I think he also did a bit of that. He used to do these Q and A things on EQlore.com or something way the hell back in the day. He was an arrogant ass, but he was pretty damn good at what he did IMO. He left at some point over the past couple years, and as far as I know is working on Vanguard with Sigil.
