Ah yes, every time I start to weaken and begin considering maybe possibly trying EQ2 (or even trying to apply for the beta), SOE does me a huge favor and reminds me why I vowed to never give them another cent of my money.

In case the link doesn't work, to make a long story short, there was an exploit that a lot of people used to dupe a bunch of money in the game. Naturally SOE in all their glorious competence, started banning ANYONE who had any of the tracked credits, regardless of how they received them. From the sounds of it a large number of innocent people were banned simply because they sold something and received the tainted credits, or in some cases they were banned because someone "tipped" them (I dunno what that is, even) with the credits, which can happen while they are offline and unaware. So then a bunch of players get together and start to protest it, and SOE starts randomly kicking players from the server, teleporting them to the middle of nowhere, and eventually shuts the server down. Class.
