Helluva car, loved the 10 minutes my bro let me drive it when he first got his. Couldn't have any fun with it though, breaking it in and all :/

Fave part is the engine and exhaust sound. Very few V6's sound that good.

<3 the Zs. I owned a 90 NA 2+2 for a few years (insurance was a bit high for an 18 year old + a twin turbo). Now that I'm 25, I've grown out of the sportscar phase so I'm looking at a G35.

isnt a G35 still considered a sports car (not sure about the 4-door though)

Very nice car :)

Is that a buick or olds in the reflection? Sure looks like it. I don't know how you kids afforded this stuff at such an early age. I've had my dakota since I could drive, and she's been good to me all along. Maybe I'll upgrade to an escalade or something when my salary permits. There's benefits to being the only guy that can haul girls' crap around when they move...

:confuse:

Not really. It's more of a luxury/sport sedan I guess, somewhat similar to the BMW 3-series. But their primary purpose is moving people in comfort, not performance. The Z is all about performance, hence why the ride is rough as hell and the car's pretty noisy, there's not much sound insulation in them.

im thinking in the general mindset of insurance purposes... the g35 and the z would be placed under the same class of sports coupe .... even more if u break the 300 hp mark like the m3

a friend of mine (well the brother of my friend actually) works for nissan and can get the touring from 34k down to 26k ... well whatever is the invoice price since the car can come in diff packages. it's very tempting but after driving the porshe for a year ... i dont think its worth it anymore to drive a luxary car or anything higher than your average sentra, corolla, or civic. i'm just holding on the mentality that a car serves one purpose -- to take u from Point A to Point B...

nevertheless, that Z is one fine car =)

The M3 is defintely a sports car, it isn't a normal 3-series. When I say 3-series I am talking 318's, 328's, 330's etc. The M3 is in it's own league, it's one hell of a car. But the G35 is a four door sedan, for the most part. Yeah there's the coupe version that's mechanically very similar to the Z, but it has somewhat less power, a backseat, longer wheelbase, and a much better ride. It's a luxury coupe, I guess you'd call it. Again, it's primary purpose isn't speed, but rather comfort and cachet. The Z is primarily about performance, plain and simple, hence the rough and loud ride.

I doubt an insurance company would consider a 4 door G35 a sports car, really. If they did, then the Maxima with the 3.5L V6 would be as well. And that's just goofy.

Most G35s i see nowadays are 2 door -- as I WOULD HOPE derrict was talking about. i'd cut off his legs if he was talking about a 4 door G35.

and no...the G35 is not a 4door car for the most part - not now anyway ... its a 2 door sports coupe for the most part now than it is a 4 door. at least im talking about the 2 door G35 in my original post. i'll try to see if i can dig up the ratio of sales with 2D vs 4D ever since the release of the 2D g35. you'll see more 4 door 3 series BMW than a 4 door G35 -- as u should since the 4 door g35 is ugly as hell. :)

*shrug* not around here. Sedan's are every where, coupes are pretty rare. The G35 put up some pretty incredible sales numbers in it's first few years as a 4 door. I'm sure the coupe is selling like hot cakes as well, though.

But yeah, if you're talking coupe I suppose it would be considered a sports car.

I call it my "early mid-life crisis car" Guess I have to get it out of my system before I decide to grow up. For those of you that don't know I sell cars, Chevrolet to be specific. So if you have any question give me a hollar. I also know our little games and tricks... =)

Went to a Sema Auto show in Atlantic City back in May. Here are a couple cars that I thought were pretty sweet. Most of the cars were either 350Z's, M3's, Evos or STis.

*edit Those are shitty shots of the M3.. There are a bagillion TV's inside that :D

Yeah, I'm looking at the 6 speed coupe - I'm too young to be driving a sedan =)

Here are a few pics of some Zs at a local Z show in York, PA. I have more of the Z32s and Z31s but attached are the 350s.
