:(

I haven't done much with models over the last few months. I prefer working with cars, they don't take 3 hours to do their make up and hair.

lol 3 hours.

And I have it smeared all over my sheets/pillows face/chest over the course of another 3 hours... although granted by the time 10 minutes have gone by the majority of their makeup has already been rubbed/smudged off.

90-05 is called Miata here. 06 is now called MX5, just like the rest of the world.

I've had the car for about a year; it basically is the same from the outside other than the Koni adjustable coilovers, dropping the car 2"

Nice wheels, Derrict. I was looking through some old screenshots Monday night (due to the PEQuest (http://www.projecteq.org) reminiscing and such) and found some of the entire OT outpost chasing you around in circles. Good stuff.

The Mazdaspeed Miata is nice. Mazdaspeed does some really interesting things with the base cars.

I currently drive a 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 :)

the next Mazdaspeed MX5 is going to use the 2.3L turbo, detuned since there isn't as much space in the engine bay so a smaller radiator and oil cooler has to be used. ~ 220-230 hp in a 2550 lb car :D

haha. I remember doing this, but I'm not sure why. I think I was bored one evening and decided to aggro every mob possible.

I was considering purchasing one of those when I was shopping for a car... a Mazda Speed 3. But, I decided to avoid American cars and just went with a WRX.

All Mazdaspeed cars (3, 6 MX5, etc..) are built and shipped from Japan, so they are Japanese, not American.

With the WRX, you get all wheel drive. The Mazdaspeed 3 is a LOT less to insure than the WRX.

I prefer the look of WRX's but thats just me. I just love how most Subaru's look... That and they are great for where I live... dirt roads everywhere! (Baja ranks up there with the Element and Scion (forget model) for ugliest car of the past few years though!)

I've never been a fan of the WRX looks, especially with the 08 model which isn't very good looking imo.

We're doing some work for Subaru so they dropped off an 08 model this past summer before the press and public got to see the car. Here's a sneak peak of the boost gauge we're building for SPT

There will a slight tweak once it's finalized; the lighting on the pointer will be brighter and more even at the top.

That I will agree with. What the fuck was Subaru thinking with a fucking Mazda 6 / GTI ugly ass clone. Don't like the four door either. Mine is a 07. Least the Legacy's still look pretty sweet. Wish I had just held out and purchased a Legacy GT Spec. B.

Yeah, the 2.5 GT is nice. I was thinking about buying a practical car and the Legacy 2.5GT was one of them. That was a split second, then I realized I have no wife and kids so I went back to looking at 2 seater convertibles again lol.

Ahh, I drive around friends often so I wanted a four seater. Still laughing right now, co-worker started complaining about an Audi he bought new a few weeks ago... It's already been in the shop for a week with a problem they cannot diagnose (Rear lights won't turn on and they have NFC why).

He lives in MA, pretty sure they have that. Still under warranty... I'd have expected better from a 70 thousand dollar car (Audi A8)

I refuse to buy German cars for two reasons 1) I have no clue how to work on them, 2) I don't have the tools to work on them if anything did go wrong. I'll stick to a metric tool set, perfect for Japanese vehicles.

The one time I did work on 3 series BMW was to change the brake pads. I had the sockets out and ready, only to look at the calipers and realize they use hex nuts. WTF

It's just another reason to purchase more tools!

The only thing I never did was change the clutch, and it seemed to be 40% higher then others (domestic) that I've had changed.

BMW makes a pretty damn good car. I've owned 2 and have never really had any issues aside from people pulling out in front of me while driving them. (325i and 535)

That is a pretty sharp looking toy btw, D.

BMW parts are expensive, both OE and aftermarket. My sister previously had an 00 323 coupe and now she has an 04 530. Everything that has needed to be fixed has been covered under warranty but it's a bit ridiculous when the bill for a front rotor/pad job is over $1000.

I'm a fan of the WRX, but the newer models don't look as great. Of the recent body styles, I like 2004 the best. We were looking at getting one for me, but used - and one of my fears was that the car would have been driven to hell and need lots of replacing.

I don't like that the sedans don't have fold-down rear seats... that is a new feature in the uglier 2008 model. No real storage problems with the wagons...

We got my wife a Nissan Rogue AWD and she likes it a lot. The CVT on the Nissans is pretty awesome - you can peg it at an RPM and when it "shifts" it'll never lose RPM. Unfortunately our base model doesn't have paddle shifters, so it takes a little bit for the car to realize you need to dip to a lower gear to accelerate in some instances. It's pretty amazing how well 4-cylinder engines have improved.

My dad has an Audi TT whose transmission recently went out (just after the warranty expired, of course). The dealer wanted outrageous prices to fix it, compared to a certified repair shop that didn't sell the cars. Still, the cost was probably $1000-$1500 more than the same repair on a similar car.
