I'm a little teapot by unknown ---> because it makes me smile
otherwise perhaps Bulldozer by Simon Patterson
it changes too fast, new music always amazes me in new ways and no song from the past can really outshine the changes made. That said there are a few songs that from the past that will still tremble my knees... Too many hold equal spots to make them number one.

<-- or at least the more famous version of it.
But how can you pick just one? That's like asking: cake or pie? Even though pie > cake, there are so many great cakes out there. MmMmmmm cake.

I've got 2 songs that, no matter how many times I listen to them, I never get tired of them:
Paul Oakenfold - "Song to the Siren (Did I Dream)" [Fabel Mix] - This song got me through countless hours of studying in college. It's on a great 2-disc set I bought in 2000 and the cool sounds and mixing really introduced me to Techno/Trance in a way I've never been able to shake.
Dave Matthews - Grey Street (Lillywhite Sessions) - I just really like this song and can never skip it when it plays. Always gets my heart beating faster.

Nice calls on Ramble On and Third Eye!
I think I'd have to go with:
Three Days - Jane's Addiction (live and uncut, c/w 7 minute guitar solo)
Goddamn, why did they have to release Strays? :/

Probably Breed-Nirvana ... to this day that song still gets my adrenaline flowing. But Two step by DMB is one I always come back to and if I was going to go classic zep like zey it would be black dog for sure!
As I said that is too hard of a question you silly brit!

To many to pick just one, maybe if I did my fav from every band, when I was younger this may have been easier.
Skaara

Renegade - Styx or Blaze of Glory - Bon Jovi

I get up in the morning and I raise my weary head, had an old coat for my pillow and the Earth was last nights bed.

Interesting question.
Currently I think it'd have to be "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" by David Allen Coe
All time is tough though. I go through phases.
I think top 5 artists would be easier to do :)
