Warhammer might finish well, still has a fair amount to go still imho before it could be a suitable competitor for eq2 and wow(although I haven't done anything in beta since I stopped playing games 2 weeks ago).

I'll be playing EQ2 until we see either of those games released, I'm sorta hoping AoC will be first cause I sorta want to give that a try (devs are norwegian, how cool isn't that? :D). But if Warhammer is out before AoC, I doubt I'll have much time to spare for AoC :\.

I don't think there will be any carebear servers in Warhammer.

So far they haven't any plans on special ruleset servers, that's not to say there won't be.

But WAR servers is gonna be a whole lot more "carebear" than WoW servers is. Meaning there will be areas in each zone where you're safe from attack, you can only actually PvP in the specified PvP areas, hence the days of ganking unprepared targets is likely gonna be at an end. Ganking defenseless lower levels will also not be possible in WAR, if you venture into a lower level PvP area with your high level you will.. quite literally be turned into a chicken, which reduces your fighting capabilities to pecking at people for 1 point of damage.

that actually reminds me of my least favorite WoW idea. If you go to ptr with a premade char they tag you pvp and drop you in an opposite faction area. Nothing like having to spend the first 30mins just creeping toward a zoneline area or a hidden spot so you can drop it...
