Yeah. I've never been to the west coast. Figure I can spend two years out there and see what it's like before I get out.

Your location says "NJ 4 Life"...
But from what I recall, Seattle area is awesome (if you don't mind the occasional (year long year round) rain).

From that comment, it would be strange if he wasn't in the military :)

I live in Seattle, which I like a lot. The weather is a little weird, you have 2 months of summer, then 10 months straight of rain. It only snows 2-3 times a year, but the world comes to an end everytime it does. An inch of snow has people abandoning their cars on the freeway and walking home. Also traffic is pretty shitty, the roads don't make sense, and nobody knows how to drive.
However, there is a lot to do and see and its definately a fun place to live.

Fort Lewis on the other hand is a fucking shithole, on the outskirts of the larger shithole of Tacoma. Most Army bases seem like shitholes though, so I don't know how it compares to others.

Well, I think you probably turned me away from moving there. LA sounds better. Except you can at least afford a house (sort-of) in Seattle. Well, moreso than La for sure..

Come to the other side of the mountains.. weather is nice, great place to live. Spokane, Tri-Cities, Yakima, Ellensburg.

Oregon > Washington > California
But, no army bases here :)
(The hippies and anarchists wouldn't stand for it)

Well, I live in Redmond (a Suburb of Seattle) and love it.

I like the weather. The traffic is shitty, but then again, where isn't the traffic shitty?

There aren't too many Army bases I would label as "Fantastic", so take Trav's word's with a grain of salt. Ft. Lewis is pretty much the same as any other Army base in the lower 48.

The weather doesn't get much shittier than it is right now... so come on out and take a look :)

I grew up there actually ;). Well, technically Moscow Idaho, but the town sits on the border with washington, so I figure thats close enough. I also went to WSU.

Hey Trav, where in Seattle are you located? U-District? Downtown? Freemont?
