No more episodes until September..

Who else thinks this show won't make it to season 4 due to a lack of overall visibility?

sadly i must say id have to agree with you Fir....its too bad too, its not too comic booky and the story lines in the past kept making u wanting to see the next week. Anthor show that got cancelled due to writers strike was a show called Journey man (spelt wrong probably) it reminded me of the show called Quantum Leap back in the mid 80's.

If NBC doesn't pick it up after this season, I could see SciFi channel buying it. They have done that before and made the series a decent hit.

It would be a shame is it doesn't get picked up though, it is a great show imo.

Perhaps. I'm not sure that they have many other good ideas going though to toss in it's spot.

I like the show but it did get lame for a bit.

I know last year (Heroes season 1), the ratings were through the roof. This year, they are ranked 8th nationally by Nielson in the 18-49 age group (the ones that spend the most money) taking in 6-7 million viewers per eisode.

So, given the idea that the series will dwindle, they still have at least 3 more years left. But I believe the next season will be better than S2. The writers/producers admitted that S2 was too slow and they relied too much on S1's paradigm. The budget should be good enough to have a few good battles early on which might bump their ratings up.

Just my opinion :)

Also, if you check out this web site: http://www.tvweek.com/ (http://www.tvweek.com/) Heroes is consistently in the top performers for the 18-49 age group when it aired for the fall of 2007 (I sampled 6 and Heroes was listed as top performer for that age group 5 times on Mondays).

I agree with you Thlayli, if TV was based on quality.

Sadly, TV is based on viewers who have very short attention spans. When a show disappears for 9 months; most of those short attention spans will have found a new shiny object to stare at.

The industry is training people to have short attention spans. With all the money invested on pvr's, box sets, and digital downloads why bother watching a show that takes breaks or runs to many commercials. Ie American idol this year during the writers strike. They killed in the ratings so what did they do... play 5 mins of show then run 10 commercials. It was sick. Box sets are now coming out in less then a year or sometimes 6 months after a show, more and more people are turning to them to follow a series. It's great but it doesn't help keep a series alive.

I'm with Thlayli on this too. Some hardcore battles with Adam and the Pitrelli bros., and possibly some slutty tee shots in the first 3 episodes is what this series needs.

I liked Hero season I. It was the first TV series I looked forward to watching every week. It was addictive! The second season was not that good, especially the sudden ending. I hope the third season will have a better story.

You make a good point. I still feel the audience for Heroes is still there. And in the Fall, it should be back on top.

My question is this: what the hell is with the ratings for Dancing with the stars? You have to be kidding me!

Note: they've started filming for Season 3. And it looks like they are starting the advertising campaign!!!

I wonder if this is a rumor or true. Considering the amount of time off, I could see this being done to ensure peoplpe got back into the series..

Perhaps as a way to say "we feel your pain" to loyal fans, NBC is calling the season premiere of Heroes a 'three-hour event'. The season 3 premiere will air on September 15th (tick off every last second with the Heroes-TV.com countdown clock (http://www.heroes-tv.com/modules/news/admin/index.php?op=newarticle)) and consist of a one-hour recap of the previous two seasons, followed by two hours of brand new season 3 Heroes awesomeness.

Journeyman, one of the new shows I really liked will not be returning FYI

Stupid networks and BS. They take the best shows off TV and keep the rating whore reality TV crap on..

Im still pissed about Firefly, Dresden Files, Deadwood, Rome and a few others. If they take Sarah Conner Chronicles off the air, I may swear off TV all together.

I also agree the second season of Heroes was not as good, but still entertaining. Hopefully they can turn it around..

I can see SciFi channel picking up this series. This would be a perfect fit for a Friday night line-up once Battlestar Galactica is off the air this year.
