I'm want to run 2 accounts on one pc using 2 different screens. I have my monitors setup so i can mouse from one screen to the other but it's not letting me open anything into the other screen. I can only open things and drag to the second screen. Any computer savy people know how i might get this thing to work?

Why not open one wow window, drag it over, then open another?

What sound card are you using? And it sounds like it's working normally.
I have found that cards with nvidia do not allow programs to "remember" what screen to open up on, but ati style cards do. At the moment my main screen is a 19" ws monitor and everything opens on that screen. I open wow and drag it (has to be in windowed mode to do this) to my 22" ws. When I two box i find it's better for the cpu / vid card to overlap the two wow windows and play like that.
I've asked around about forcing wow to open on the 22" but received a newp from everyone that had experience with it.

ahh yeah i forgot wow even had a windowed mode..
My primary monitor is a 22 wide screen..is it possible to have it setup so my second account will keep the settings i need on my 17inch secondary monitor?

You play 3 WoW's with 1 monitor?
How do you get a program to open in windowed mode?

That won't help him if you don't tell him what your doing. Some people hate horizontal span ie. using both monitors as one like that. It didn't sound like that was what he wanted.

wow has always had a windowed mode option in its video options ain, and that is 2 monitors, just when you take a SS it puts it all into one picture.

I have no idea what you mean He asked that he:

The only way he can drag from one wow client to the other client WITHOUT LOSING FPS is through horizontal span. Either way, the concept remains the same if you want individual monitors instead of horizontal span - so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I never said it wouldn't work! Your ss proves that. What your ss doesn't do is tell him how to set it up or what your doing, that's all.

I hear if you launch them via catapult towards each other, the resulting collision results in phat epix.

I was more responding to your final statement when you said:
It didn't sound like that was what he wanted.
It IS what I thought he wanted - whether it's horizontal span or independent duAl monitors.
And before I go off mouthing how I did mine, I'd rather get confirmation from him rather than going off by my assumption - as well as yours.

Either way it didn't really matter as long as I could play 2 accounts next to each other..It takes too long for my pc to switch between them when I alt tab with one on top of the other. My monitors are 2 different sizes so will i have to downgrade my larger monitors resolution to match the resolution of my smaller monitor in order for it to work?

@Nexten
If you're willing to shell out $20, buy Keyclone. It automatically sets up your dual display monitor and allows you to run wow on two separate monitor without having to drag any WoW client (I will give you more instructions in Vent if you go this route).
If you're not willing to spend $20, download the mod Maximizer. However, it will take a lot of manual set up and resolution configuration for you to display WoW in separate monitor. You will have to google and research Maximizer settings if you go this route.
As far as dual display is concerned, I think it's best to do horizontal span. I have not tried different resolutions on horizontal span (though I don't think it's possible to set up different resolutions since your PC will consider both monitors as one.
Here's mine (laptop is a 5th PC).

Cool thanks for the info Ang..I'll def get that program
I'm going to have to invest in another 22 inch widescreen then because my second monitor is way to small.

After you unzip and install the program (it just unzips the files - no installation done). It will ask you to register your copy of Keyclone - which will take you through paypal. More info about multiboxing can be found here:

I don't even know you anymore, you've changed!
I agree with you, in fact i've gone back to play with my setup because of this thread. I wasn't maximizing fps because i was unwilling to change my 22" resolution. The change in fps is fantastic, thanks for your help Ang! <3

With Windows Vista, you can dual view (instead of horizontal span) without the framerate loss. Actually, I think Vista doesn't even have a horizontal span option.

Clearly, Firanja should consider quad-boxing.
