Actually, Newegg also has an XFX 256MB 8800GT for $99.00 after rebate.

Granted, it is only 256MB, which cripples it for the higher resolutions, but it's a fantastic amount of horsepower for $99.00...

P.S. Those are both great buys on video cards. But the reason you're seeing the price is demand speculation by the card manufacturers. Both ATI and nVidia have new high-end cards coming this summer, and card makers are trying to run down their chip stocks so they aren't over-committed to the older chipsets when the new ones come out.

I bought this for also $99 (it was on sale after rebate) which is also a bit better than what Peotr posted.

However now it's $119 after rebate which is still a great price I think.

I bought my 8800 GTX when it first came out two years ago (hurray $600) and other than Crysis (which is shit), I don't see any game that it can't handle for about two more years.
