Well I decided to try a differnt kind of MMO tonight, no more of that sugar coated fantasy land crap like has been in the main stream for over 10 years now. I wanted Gore, I wanted Undead Hordes and I wanted to be a Cyborg chick with blue breasts and an ass that woudl make Jo Lo envious.

In Other words I wanted to play Requiem. Behold!!

just go make an account and down load the client. It went fast as hell, bout an hour for me on bit torrent with a bit torrent client. 2.5 gig download just about an hour.

But as I said I do have an ass that would stop traffic in Miami! And I do it all with My Dual Blades of Glory. All servers are PK thus far and I can't run using my mouse butons and it is driving me nuts, but other than that, this is a lot of fun!!

I'm up to level 8, played for about an hour. The UI could use some polishing and the NPCs don't always seem to load in time with your movement. However, I could see myself playing this for a good time to come.

For some reason I can't speak in vent while in-game.

Is there any way to force vent to work? I've had this problem in some other games...

Nope. That didn't work either.

I'm tending to think that the game occupies all of my computation cycles or something and that's why it won't do it.

I went to the vent website and looked at their ideas on the issue and changed direct input and some other things but no dice :-/

Not going to play a whole lot if I can't speak in vent. Right now I'm leaving the mic open and just telling people to deal with it. :X

Hack Shield will be re-implemented onto the client.
Gamplay changes:
Looting Type and Party Menus have been updated.
　+ Monsters now drop boxes containing multiple items.
　+ Item distribution type for partying has been updated: Dice Function
　+ The Pick Up function (G) now enables you to obtain all items from dropped boxes at once.
Due to the looting type change, the Item Discard function has been changed; you now cannot drop items but permanently destroy them.
Lant now has a drop rate just like items; the Lant gaining rate has been increased.

Movement Speed decreasing effects are now applied properly when walking backward for the effect durations.
While you are in a trade with someone, if someone dies, the trade is now automatically canceled.
Your corpse will not be rotated when dragging a mouse while dead.
You can now hide without displaying reinforcement effects.
You can now hide without leaving a selection cursor.
Battlefield standby image is now expandable horizontally.
Quest changes:
Quest titles that are too long to fit in Quest Journal will be shortened and display [...] at the end.

The longer I play it, the more impressed I am.

Leaving the starting area and entering a major city is really impressive.

The cities are well-detailed and mapped, but somewhat barren. It leaves for a much more pleasant visual experience, though.

So far, Lons Inso and I have done 2 instances and are on our way to the third. The one boss we've fought so far was more fun than any 5-man in WoW.

Downloading the game client is not too bad. But patching made it impossible to play this game. Three hour passed, it has not reached 3% yet.

Well, looks like this game is going live on the 17th with Open Beta ending the 12th.

It will be free to play with an option for premium service of 15 bucks a month recuring that will get you better gear drops and exp and the abilty to use region chat o.O

There will also be a cash mall that you can buy certain gear from etc.

In other words, I'll be moving on. Don't get me wrong, its a GREAT game the graphics are great and I only hope goes to help push the envelope in the future for games that aren't all gayed up when they go live.

I'm all for cash cows, but when you start making it so that you can just go pay for shit at a mini mall instead of earning it in game, it is no longer a game and more of a dress up my pretty barbie game to me at least.
