Most city/counties has laws against firing weapons unless on a property zoned for it..And getting caught with a short barreled shotgun is a pretty big deal

You have a .300 super mag at your home? It wasn't even a neighbor that called it was his wife apparently. And it was a sawed off shot gun on his own property in his own back yard. Some common sense needs to be used by even the folks arresting him. There are folks that rob liquor stores that get less time.
