Just checking to see who is playing Warhammer. Myself and some of the top Wow players in my guild and other top guilds might be putting a guild together as evil on a full Realm vs Realm server. We plan to be somewhat casual and of course focus mainly on PVP to start and see where the game takes us. We did the same thing on Conan and were quickly one of the biggest and most powerful guilds in the game but as I am sure a lot of you are aware its a terrible game and died. lol

Yes its dead and its terrible. Good news is I hear they are planning an expansion to release the rest of the game that should have been available at launch. Bad news is you have to pay for it. I think people got tired of Beta testing such a terrible game that has absolutely no content.

I have heard both Negative and Positive things about Warhammer but have decided to find out for myself. Afterall there is nothing else to play right now anyway and I am bored! I hear that it is much better now than the first time they had beta but still has its issues like any new game.

I have to say Warhammer is quite fun in the way that pvp is as rewarding as pve in terms of experience and loot. It is nice not being obligated to doing just one side of the game because you can progress faster doing so.

Yea I have been in the beta for the last month or so.
Classes I've played:
Tanks

Chosen, Sword Master both pretty fun.

Melee DPS
Witch Elf (pwns stuff good), Witch Hunter (fun but not sure if I wanna go that route), White Lion (hate the pet and its a buggy class)

Ranged DPS
Sorceress (damn cool if you dont kill yourself first), Shadow Warrior (like a mix of a warrior (stances) and hunter without the pet and silly traps), Bright Wizard (see sorc cool if you don't kill yourself), Magus (cool but pets lower the dps output too much last i checked)

Healers (Cool thing about the healers is that if you choose to only heal you will be out healed by people who choose to do damage and heal)
Warrior Priest (what the paladin in wow should have been and more), Disciple of Khaine, (similar to WarPrst but dual wields swords instead of a big mace), Archmage (healing a bunch leads to nukes that hit hard and damaging alot leads to heals that hit hard its a win/win.)

All over its a fun game and if they can just fix a couple of the bugs here in the final stretch it should be a blast. My only concern is with end game getting too old and repetitive to fast since the lvl cap is only 40 and I was able to get to 20 in 3 days of play.

I have the WAR beta....its totally WoW with acheivements...so its like WotLK early...
Even the UI looks almost the same, with a built in quest helper.

The differences that I love about WAR are: (Not necessarily in any order)

1. Next to no downtime (Once out of combat you can go from 10% life/energy to full in less then 10 secs it seems. Think of how it was when you were a lowbie.)

2. Healers must do damage to heal, ok technically you can gimp youself and your team by not doing any damage and trying to only heal but most healer class mechanics I have seen make it far more beneficial to do both.

3. Greater variety of classes, true only 4 archetypes but they managed to separate them out in such away that each feels somewhat distinct.

4. No DOWNTIME. Sorry I hate that out of combat crap in WoW is basically done for the sole purpose of chewing up time that could be better spent killing things. Hell what purpose does the longest spell cast in the game Rez server by having a high mana cost and a high cast time?

5. In combat Group REZ! Ok maybe not everyone has it and no one on beta has it anymore since the levels all just got reset but it was cool.

6. The Lore follows pretty close to the real lore for the game. While I don't mind WoWs lore it is made up as they go for the most part. WAR has been around since the 70s and the depth of lore shows.

8. PVP is pretty cool except for the stupid healers are all like droods take too many people to kill one less they are lower level it seems. I anticipate a small nerf.

9. PVP lvln system. If you join a Scenario (think BG) you will be automatically have your stats, health and abilities dam/heal lvld to be either 8, 18, 28 or 38 depending on the tier lvl of the scenario.

10. Tons of scenarios. There are 4 tiers of lvls in the game. In each tier there are 3 continents if you will... Human v Chaos, Dwarf v Greenskins and High Elf v Dark Elf. This makes 12 specific zones. Each zone has its own scenario. It currently seems like you are unable to go back to a lower lvl zones scenario once you are past it.

11. World RVR like WoW used to have. Says it all.

12. RVR is a legitimate way to make both gold (and items worthwhile for it) and experience (will be slower then questing.)

13. Items from vendors dont suck. I always hated that aside from food and quest items vendors serve no real purpose in WoW.

14. Renown. Think Honor done correctly, also it has its own talent tree.

15. CHICKENS! Currently if you are higher lvl then the zone allows for and you enter an RVR area (no PVE / PVP servers for WAR) you get turned into a chicken. As a chicken you are slow as hell and take massive damage from anyone. I hit a chicken last night for roughly 10k damage, I was level 8 and normally crit for about 100-200.

I'm thinking of being good (maybe). Only because more of the player base seems to be evil.
Being the minority is fun.

I rolled a Swordmaster, aaand got rolled in pvp. I do not want to play as a tank in a battlegrounds PUG, unless I'm a melee healer. I just don't have faith in other players, and I don't want to just dive right into a pile of people to die.

I hate that Scenario so much... so I never queue for it now. Kinda nice, everyone I group with for Scenarios feels the same so we just deal with the extra wait time for another.

Too many people are dipshits and Order has far superior knockbacks.
