So I've actually convinced my magapaper (bastard child of a magazine and newspaper) to run a story about WoW and Wrath of the Lich King for the lay men. As a side bar we want to do a sort of WoW-term dictionary in brief.
Can you guys please help me out with some WoW terms and slang, along with their corresponding definitions and some of them might end up in print!
You guys rock :kiss2: kisses — Zephy

The freelancer who did the story gave us this stuff so far... but I'd like to get a bit more variety... some fun stuff too...
Alliance – One of two factions attempting to control the world of Azeroth. Enemy of the Horde.
Cairne Bloodhoof – Chief of the Tauren, a powerful, bull-like race with peaceful inclinations
Corrupted Blood – A virtual plague released in September 2005 that wiped out thousands of characters. WoW gamers reacted to this outbreak in a manner that so closely mimicked typical human reaction to infectious disease that public health officials have used WoW for epidemiology modeling.
Dalaran – A city-state in the Alterac Mountains that was one of the seven Original Kingdoms
Eye of the Storm – A new battleground introduced in The Burning Crusade, the last WoW expansion released in January 2007.
Great Sea – Body of water separating Azeroth’s two main land masses, the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.
Outland – A separate planet originally known as Draenor; the ancestral home of orcs and ogres
Nerfing – A change performed by WoW programmers when a particular race or weapon becomes too powerful. This “market correction” keeps any one player or race becomes too dominant and upsets the balance of play.
Sylvanas – The Banshee Queen of the Forsaken, a race of undead humans
Realm – One of several servers on which WoW is played. Different “realms” support slightly different permutations of the game, supporting several thousand players each. Characters in different realms cannot interact with each other.

PST - A useless abbreviation used in public trade channels when the speaker is too stupid to realize that a normal person would respond privately to them if they were interested in their offer.

LFG - Looking for Group
LF?M- Looking for a particular number of players to fill/finish a group
MT - Main tank
DPS - Damage Per Second, slang for damage dealing characters
CC- Crowd Control, the ability to reduce the number of engaged enemies (by many means)
Tank - Class/character that keeps the attention of a monster while other classes do damage to it
Meh, that's all I can think of for now. Might want to mention something about Dungeon/Instance abbreviation, the first two letters always being used to refer to a specific zone.

PST...I believe stands for Please Send Tell, but has morphed into pssst or whisper.
Mob actually stands for mobile object (M.ob) Just learned this recently.

But why ask someone to send you a tell; when it's COMMON SENSE to send them a tell if they have posted something for sale or otherwise done something to solicit a response?
I stand by my definition.

Ill take your quote, it is much more to the point.
Troll - Useless human being who "trolls" the WOW forums looking for fights with random people. Usually not knowledgable about the game itself and a complete utter waste of sperm

reported - when an obnoxious or offensive statement is made in a specific channel, this is a way of sending this information to Blizzard so they may punish the perpetrator in an appropriate fashion. Oftentimes you see this when foul language is used in public channels. I personally see no effect to this, and thus labels the "reporter" as a taddle tail.
noob - someone that is new to the game, and does not know all the idiosyncrasies.
:confuse:

Am I the only one whose workplace has an ALL-USER e-mail list, and when you use it to solicit information or advice, you can guarantee that someone will hit reply to all in response?
"Reply to Sender Only" is the office space PST.
