It's not uncommon. Failed fans. Extended periods of playtime without proper ventilation. Running too many apps (such as 2+ instances of wow). Not saying Krip does any of these but it's not hard to fry a vid card playing wow

For clarification, it was an Nvidia Geforce 8500.

That card was prone to overheating anyway. Sorry to hear that Krip...

If I remember correctly, the card I gave you was an AGP. Good AGP cards are starting to become hard to come by, especially if you're looking at one that is any better than the one I handed you.

You may want to start considering a complete rebuild (or at least a mobo that supports PCI-E). Otherwise, if you can wait ~2-3 weeks, I'll be getting rid of another video card that I could throw your way.

I'm living in a AGP world. It is a dark, dark place...

Indeed it is.

Krip, give me a low down on what you're running and what you're looking for. If you're willing to get a new motherboard, I can help out with a great card.

My main computer is fine.

It's the spare computer so I dont wanna put much money into it but I want it to be playable again. Yeah think it was AGP. I am not too picky but would like to stay around 100 bux and would hate to downgrade in performance.

Gettign pretty close to buying from best buy (easiest solution : /)

Weekends are rough with just one computer in the house.

If it's AGP, good luck finding a card at Best Buy. ><

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102851 Probably your best bet in the AGP market, though I hear the drivers can be iffy.

I'm out of spare AGP cards... hopefully this will do the trick.
