OK so I bought this on release day and just now tried it. And I just got my ass HANDED to me. I am seriously bad at this game.

And yet, I was actually PRO at the original Super Mario World. Even now, when I load that game up on the Wii with the classic controller, I can blast through it.

Am I the only one fucking yelling at the fact that they completely got the jump wrong in NSMB? The jump is too high and not enough horizontal motion. IT FUCKS ME UP. I cannot play this game until I get used to it.

Sigh.

Back to Ratchet and Clank, which OWNS, by the way.

I've yet to try R&C, but I felt the same way about the NSMB jump :-/

Granted, I got used to it and FAST. I haven't got to play enough of this game yet... but I've got good first impressions!

When you do get around to R&C, make sure to hit all the optional content, especially the moons and the arena. Some of the most interesting platforming. After playing that game, Mario just kinda felt... weak. And I'm really a huge Mario fan.

I will get back to this eventually.

But I've also got Assassin's Creed II waiting...

It's awesomely fun. The kids and I have played off and on a bunch. When I sit down and try to make progress with them, they tend to team up against me. :D

I was playing Super Mario World the other day when I was bored with WOW.. And found out how out of synch I am with that game compared to 15?ish years ago.

Super Mario World is just an awesome game. Still my favorite Mario game after all this time.

Out of them all I think I liked Super Mario 3 the most. The new one looks fun, I'm sure the wee ones and I will get a kick out of it.

Super Mario world and Super Mario Sunshine were my two favorites in their respective categories (2d and 3d).

Maybe this one will rank up, maybe it wont.

I finally loaded it up today after reading your post, and I can agree that I don't really care for how the jump feels, I'm not finding it all that hard (about as hard as I expected it). I'm certainly not struggling through the levels, but have only cleared the 1st world so far (like 8ish levels/courses as they call them).

This game is a lot of fun! It's a lot more challenging with 2+ people, especially if their gameplay styles are quite different...

The jumps are similar to the DS version, which is also a lot of fun if you haven't played it.

Es and I started playing it together today, it's definitely different with two people. I would say so far that it's easier that way.

WAY more fun with multiple people. That's like the whole appeal! This is what the Mario Party series should've been like, imo.
