I did that to my friend's PC up to 3.6 and the gains were marginal for WoW.

No, it'll probably crush WoW at 2.66 factory. But it's for other things.

If you're going to reuse some parts (like HD / CD Rom / Case - and potentially PSU), you can save so much more money :)
