What is a good program that can convert Dvix to avi. Can't seem to find one that will worth a damn.

Divx is a compression format.

AVI is a container.

An AVI can contain Divx compressed video/audio (as well as uncompressed, or other compression formats).

If you can be a little more specific on what your usage requirements are, I can probably provide some information for you.
