It does feel quite Facebook-ish, the speed and interface are very slick, but I don't see it as a big improvement over FB at the moment. The jump from MySpace to FB was noticeable, this feels more like a minor refinement.

Maybe Google won't be stupid like FB and make constant changes to the layout and security that suck and everyone hates. I'm looking at your News Feed and Most Recent and chat setup and .....

I do like how it allows you to segregate your friends into different circles. It's much more obvious than Facebook's system.
