Anyone reading this yet? I'm almost halfway through and it is sooo good. Been waiting 6 years, but so far it has been worth it.

I'm not up to that book yet, I started reading the series after watching the HBO show. I'm enjoying the read though. :)

Is this book 5 then?

I'm almost finished with the second. All in all I LOVED the HBO series.

I think the TV series are much better than the books. I tried to read them a couple times but never reached the 4th book. The style of the books is tailored for mini TV series. Characters in the book are interesting but it is hard to find anyone you want to pull for.

So far I like Arya Stark, Jon Snow, and Tyrion Lannister. Rob Stark and Daenerys Targaryen are pretty cool to.

Reading from book 1. Probably take me a while to catch up. I'm a slow reader. >.< Between raiding, LoL, and ridiculing Aindayen on his failboatness, it's hard to find time to read.

The HBO series was fing awesome. Khal Drago was sooooooooo bad ass

The books are decent, and worth it imho.

Sorry I've been MIA bananaa. I've been tasked with starting up another plant so my time is limited for a little bit :/

Then he got owned cause his wife made him let the sheep witch "heal" him.

Proof that women are the downfall of all kings and warlords alike.

Spoiler if you haven't seen the series/read the book!

That part where he cut the guys neck and then ripped the tongue through it blew my mind. I literally was like no way that just happened. I'm pretty happy he's going to be the new Conan.

Personally, I can't wait to see how people that just watch the tv show feel in season 3. The events in the third book are really going to push things. People were upset with what happened towards the end of season 1. They were saying they wouldn't watch the show anymore. These same people, if they keep up with the show, are going to blow up their local cable company if HBO follows the book in season 3.

haha What people said that?!?! There dumb! I havent read the books i actually dislike reading but I might actually try and read these after watching the show. I thought the show was amazing and was mad that it ended, not the way it ended if anything I thought it was a decent way to end the season

Read the books. They're fantastic. You get so much more details in the books compared to the tv show. Plus you don't have to wait years for them to make the next few seasons =)

If my experience is any indication book 1 was great and book 2 was just I don't know. I got about 200 pages into book 2 and just couldn't care enough to finish... People have told me to just slog through cause after that it gets good again.

Book 2 started to really pull me in about 2/3 of the way through. Just sucks that you have to go through 600 pages to get to that point, hehe.

Book 3 is easily the best of the series. So much happens in that book, and it is probably the longest of the series so far. Its a very upsetting read, but still very satisfying.
