Hoho so hard not to respond to that one.

However, in the first place I am a poet and a scholar so anytime I say anything in any forum I'm quoting a poet and scholar, perhaps it's just quoting famous dead people that bothers you?

I find it difficult to understand why anyone would have such an issue with something quoted in someone else's sig file that they'd find it necessary to make comment about it in their own, but ok.

I don't buy into the schema that other people are necessarily above or below me so I don't find it pretentious to quote anything I find interesting, humorous or ironic said by anyone. Being a poet I don't like the idea of taking credit for someone else's words, so I like to document my sources.

Secondly, books are widely available in any public library in almost every city in the world, one only has to bother to read them. It doesn't take a literary degree or admission to an exclusive university to read a book. And if you find reading pretentious, well that is your prerogative. But I for one am a bit wary of putting much stock into anything said by someone who can barely spell pretentious. :eek:
