I see alot of Screen Shots of people who have their Autoattack from the combat menu in their number 1 hotkey box. Just a little tip or something I do. Try it you might find it easier and like it. I've converted a couple to it already =p

If you tie in the >> ` << (tilde? the little button left of the number 1) to your autoattack it will save you a hotkey space(just change it from letter A to the tilde). And since its right next to the number 1. You dont have any further to go. Plus your autoattack is easy to get to no matter what hotkey page yer on.

My autoattack is still at the default "a" key. Why would you need anything else? :|

I changed my KB set up to have autoattack on tilde like the second day I played EQ, because I kept getting killed by my guildmasters :/.

I changed mine to ctrl-~ the second day as well. Too many High Elf corpses at the guild masters feet.

I don't use asdw, I use sefc, so auto-attack has always been A for me.

sefd > sefc . lets you play & twist onehanded, without moving your hand, if you set it up right.

w- forward
a-left
s-back
d-right
f- 1 hotkey
q- auto attack
x- crouch
e- consider

enables me use left hand to move, right hand for mouse....and left had to quick access and attack or spell i need, or even type easier

only problem is when i have a / up and i hit the auto attack key and i go LD

I did accidentally attack an npc when I first played the game, hehe :) But instead of changing the attack key, I just learned from my mistake :p

wasd for moving (too much quake for that to ever change)
z = auto
f = consider
e = inventory
q = fullscreen switch
x = use
c = crouch
r = target closest player
v = target closest npc
b= reply
numpad 0 = sit
space = jump

Switch around some of the consider and target keys to weapons, and you have my quake config.

I've learned to use shift+bank # very efficiently =D My main bank, with my nukes and such, is bank 2, and all my sit, loc, spellbook, etc keys are on bank 1.

And I've never attacked my guildmaster!

In FPS games I have:

5 = forward
6 = right
y = back
e = left

In RPG's I tend to go back to the good ol':

r = forward
g = right
f = back
d = left

I just use the default keys. I never attacked my guildmaster either. :)
