Yes, no primal drops at all anymore, same with SoD's. We did it so we could sell that kind of thing on ebay and player auctions for mad coin because we farmed it for months before!
In fact, there are several classes that can't get their epics anymore :/
Also, waking the sleeper gives cute puppies cancer.

Yeah, they boffowed and made it so getting primal was left up to farming 3 big gay golems and killing some big orange thing for decent (albeit better) aggro control. For a while anyways, they revamped ST, put in 4 new warders that apparently look like Vyemns cousins, threw in a bunch of new items that are kinda similar to the old, quests I guess, and added Prismatic to the loot table, which is like generic brand primal, same stats and effects basically.
Personally, I think primal was the most retarded equipment in the game, and extremely overpowered for coming from such a silly easy zone. If the weapons proc'd something reasonable, I could understand, but Avatar was ridiculous. At best, anything with an avatar proc should be Shaman only, or an Artifact. Not a candy weapon drop that you get 3-4 of per warder. The entire script was a joke, and with the difference in power that having 100 extra attack on every melee in a guild could have, it turned what should have been a "yay the beast is slain!" type situation into "wtf, y so cockblock server?" deal. I still think they should have just retronerfed every single piece of primal into some lesser form sans avatar once the sleeper was awakened, same with SoD's though they weren't nearly as evil overall as primal were.
Though, I still wonder how Rhedd soloed Ventani, he must have used some pathing bug =/ blasted clerics~

Primals was a part of why Luclin was slow for some guilds - avatar across the board speeds up melee dps with 20%.
edit: Meaning I agree with Rezz.
Primals are broken, I wish they'd delete every single one of em. (Or at least change it to Vengeance III (Worn))

I think you guys overrate primals period :p Avatar doesn't increase anyone's dps by 20 percent, but apparently it does by 11 percent or some such junk. I don't think the vast majority of our melees ever use them anymore.

when we woke the sleeper we were not the only guild who was going for him
we knew vindication was going for them, we didnt know they wanted to farm it, and we didnt know if some other guild would gimp the event if we did leave the other warders up.
the 4th warder drops some very nice loot- and all of our monks at the time got the robe from him!
ML farmed SoD's way more than us, and Baramos sold them on ebay for cash
i think the only sod's we got were:
Torrin, Drakky, LK, Barlo, Stompetta, and umm yeah think thats it
you can get primals but they now have a homosexual name- but hey its about the avatar right?
still to this day the 4th warder fight was the most fun I had in everquest. we spent like 5 hours or more of 1 weekend learning how to kill him and not make clerics over aggro (had 4 clerics so it became a problem) bla bla bla

Just a fyi, you can kill 4th warder without spawning speeper :p Sure you knew that Zappo but didn't appear so from your post.
But it's all ancient history now anyway, right? :)
I think the numbers depend on your class/weapon/setting Til. But even ignoring what effect the ATK has, you have to get to *VT* before you can get an item with a comparable benefit.
I swap primal religiously when XPing, the difference in damage is so huge.

Yeah I love how the best vengance weapons only add as much atk as swiftwind does (I think), an ancient weapon from 3 expansions ago, hehe. Go swiftwind!!

And no, once and for all, Vindication had no plans at the time whatsoever to wake the sleeper. So yes Hoss is evil, and Vindication was the pink flower with the smell of fresh spring.

Once upon a time, Hoss stood in front of the fourth warder and said to themselves...
"You know one day, years from now, some guy with a message board handle Darkstar, will want something from the warders in Sleepers tomb, so I feel we should kill the fourth warder now, so years from now, he will cry."
There was a unanimous moment of Hoss clarity where they all agreed to kill the fourth warder, which they did.
So now you know the true story, which I title *clears her throat, and begins speaking like Professor Fink* "The boning of Darkstar, with the primal, and SoD's, and HoooHooyyyyhoha!"
So from now on, whenever someone asks "Why did Hoss wake the sleeper?" you can tell them the story of Darkstar.

Heh.. at the time.. I really didn't care if anyone was trying to wake Kerafyrm. I just knew I wanted to do it, cause I wanted to see the script and I had little care that it would remove items from the game that other guilds wanted. SoD's, Monk robes, etc.
Now that I look back though.. and reflect upon all the chaos and negative publicity Hoss got from doing it.. I realize...
I still don't care..
Killing the last warder standing and releasing the Sleeper was one of those moments in EQ I'll never forget. It was fun, it was very cool to see Kerafyrm wake up, shout to the zone, and then start killing everything. I wouldn't trade it.. and I damn sure don't feel bad about it.
It's been 10 months now.. get over it.

The highest crit I've ever gotten with a bow (which was pretty damned good for us non am3 rangers) was on the Ventani fight where we finally killed him. It was destiny that he died that try. and hey, look at it this way. If guilds never pissed people off by waking the sleeper, VI probably would have never upgraded the zone.

Okay so one day in my Geometry class , (yes I'm in High School so no flames about my age pls from you 30 years olds that live in your parents' basements :D) ...lol......BACK to the topic at hand, well I had noticed this guy, named Austin, talking about EQ in class. I asked him if he plays it, he said "Not now, but it used to ruin my life when I did play it." This guy went on to tell me that he had 7 lvl 60 chars, some on different servers, (he quited before lvl cap was raised). At first I didn't believe him, how could he be a teen with that many high lvl characters!?! *cough* Powerlvling *cough*, still though how's that possible with school and all, my main is 47, but then again I have a life and he said he didn't for the years he played EQ from Beta (I presume registered under a parent's name) until about a year ago when he quit, (he now plays Shadowbane). Anyways, later on he told me that he was in a guild that made Fires of Heaven look like panzies, said the name was Hoss. Then he told me you guys were one of 2 guilds that had taken down the Sleeper, and that the other used a bug, while you guys supposedly beat him fair and square. For a person with a lower lvl main, I am still knowledgable of the Sleeper, and I know that he cannot be beaten (as of yet;) ). I know you guys being in a Uber guild that awoke this dude know way more than me, and you must all agree that I speak the truth. Anyways that other guild he mentioned sparked a thought in my head....Conquest!......for those of you who don't know Conquest was a guild who exploited a bug to kill the 4th Warder, but for some reason there is a rumor out that they killed the Sleeper when they did not. There's more about the Conquest deal and how they got suspended later on and such, but I dont want to get into detail. So I told Austin he was wrong about the other guild, that they only killed the 4th warder...when I mentioned their name was Conquest he realized he was wrong. So due to my disbelief about the Sleeper being killed I visted this website and scanned your forums, especially the ones pertaining in any way to ST, NOWHERE did I find anything saying you had even reduced the Sleeper to 99% HP but rather I found that you guys got killed by him and he roamed around...blah blah blah. So please verify that you did not kill the Sleeper, this dude must be lying or something:rolleyes:

Hoss used leet beta infoz and 'sploits to kill the sleeper. Upon death, Jimmy and the other trolls were born, who unleashed their plague upon the hoss forums with cries of "you stoled my epci!"

the sleeper wasnt really killable at the time and had no loot table to my understanding...also hoss did not kill the sleeper, only the 4th warder. also most of what you said made almost no sense.

that was by far the most intense fight I've fought in all of EQ, no fight has ever come close to that feeling :).

Thanks for the pics! 4th Warder was my all-time favorite battle, nothing came close to the feeling I got from defeating that :)
