Uptime loggin

Anyone know of a free, easy to use program that will keep logs of my ISP's uptime? I am at my wit's end with their constant down time, and I want to log how often they are down. So gimme!

How about one of those home-style firewalls, that let me know when IPs try to ping me, or worse?
