I think Drakky's figures are slightly exagerated, but he does have a point.

Only by a factor of 10. I couldn't find recent stats, but in 1997, there were close to 150,000 deaths per day world-wide.

Yes, sure, it's sad, but the world can't handle a sense of perspective.
