slapping the shit out of him is consistent with raising the child up right so it never happens :P

This one guy I went to school with (300lb 25yr old black man) told me once that all you needed to control your kids was one year of good beating. After that, they were very well controlled, rofl.

He was from the slums in Chicago and played jazz piano like Bill Evans. Cool guy :)

Nothing a plastic bag and a couple feet of rope wouldn't fix.

Haha....good commercial ;)

As far as child reaering goes I'm a beleiver in 2 things. First of all....when a little kid throws a tantrum because he wants something....NEVER give in because that just reinforces the behavior. Second....I think that corporal punishment is actually a good thing. Mostly when they are young and just enought for them to know that it is because they did something wrong and that it is something they want to avoid. When I did something wrong as a kid and my mother uttered those fateful word "just wait until your father gets home." I was scared hehe.

When spanking as a punishment is overused or crosses over into the red area where you refer to it as a beating.....that is where I find fault.

Nothing makes me more uncomfortable than being out somewhere and seeing some parent beat the crap out of their kid for making a fuss.

a quick pop to the face isnt beating youre child, and 2yrs....hmm that would be a stubborn child..1yr should do it. Hell i got a spanking for defending myself against ronald mcdonald as a child.

Spanking is alright, but if you are smacking your kid around past 5 years old, you did something wrong. By the time I was 5, I knew not to fuck up or a whomping was coming, so I behaved myself mostly.

Course, my dad did poke me with a fork once when I was like 7. I don't know what I did, but man he was pissed.

Actually, the best way to quiet a screaming child is to scream back at them, louder than they scream. Shuts them up and they just stare at you in shock. I watched my aunt do this with a 3 year old once, it's weird, but funny!

That's a not bad tactic. Then while they are standing there frozen in shock, you give them one between the eyes.

duct tape, and bricks, that's all you need.

If I was the parent, I would have bought the candy. Then when we got home i would have ate it all in front of him, and saved one for him for the next day, but I'd put laxatives and vomit inducing poison on it. That way, he'd never ask for it again.
