Yeah, it confused me quite a bit too, but then I did a search on the filename (windowpieces_04.tga or whatever) in the patched animations.xml file, and found a spot I missed. As I found out, you have to "point" to the texture files before using them later in the xml code. I kinda missed that part, since I didn't know it existed, when I plugged together vert's old Animations.xml with the new compass-art part that I thought was the only change :)
