That probably would rip my arms off. At first I thought you meant 275 kg, but then I realized the type of squat.
:confuse:
Thou art a dumbass for not using a spotter!
BTW, saw you're playing The One in a couple weeks when I was at David Usher. Alas, I'll be fishing in Comox that weekend, so I'll have to catch you next time.
Who spots squats? He can just drop the weight if he needs to.
This one time in college, I thought i was hot shit for being able to 45 deg. sled leg press a ton of weight. So I figured I'd increase my (free weight) back squat from 225 to 315 in one increment. My left knee started buckling in and my spine twisting as I struggled at the bottom. Some guy was running over to save me, but I got it up (awkwardly, and with some slight injury). I shoulda dumped the weight (or not been a dumbass trying a huge increment on a whim).
I only squat light right now, because when I've tried reasonable increases, I consistently irritate my lumbar discs. However, I've tried front and my knees seem to be holding up, and it's a bit easier on the back.
From my view, 275 is really impressive, and you don't get there quickly w/o the roids, and I can attest that Andri is mostly drug-free.
One thing that annoys me about racking the front squat, is that I tend to slightly bruise the inside (toward neck/sternum) part of my clavicle. I'm guessing I just don't have enough meat up there.
I never claimed to be a weight lifting expert! I just figured if you're doing so much weight that you can just barely do a single rep, it's probably a good idea to have a spot even if you can just drop the weight.
Actually, 275 isn't that bad. I most likely could've done a double with that weight. As for the spotter, the hardest part is coming out the hole, and the safety pins are placed close enough that if I fail, it's maybe a few inches from the pins, so I just sit down and let the pins catch the bar. Haven't needed a spotter for anything except heavy barbell chest and shoulder presses, of which I almost never do.
And it's true, I am mostly drug free. The only steroids I use are creatine (and I don't load or anything, just use 5g a day), multi-vitamins, dextrose, and protein powder.
lol, clicking random links is fun when it takes you somewhere that makes you giggle.

No, it only looks small because their muscles are so HUYOOOGE. I thought the Aussie guy was just goofing about it.
Inner thigh muscles chafing when you walk, until they bleed. That's an impressive steroid regimen for sure.
L, you saw that black guy at the beginning? That's what I want.
j/k and hello, you mean none of you wear weighted clothes when you are walking about?
:confuse:
I think I'll start taking steroids. "Guy" seemed very adament that there are no adverse health effects. :wink:Quote:
