Weird patcher problem. Anyone else seen this?

Hi Hosslings.

I was wondering if any of you have seen this problem. My secondary machine downloaded the new patcher and then went splat. I can't even get eq to launch now. If any of you have had this problem and found a fix, could you please share it with me?

i had the same prob man
i woke up this morn and was like "oh no im still at dain pull spot"
tryed to log in zappo with a keyboard inprint on my face and do some thing but i crashed :(
reset comp and saw a new patch then i could not get past server select screen w/o crashing

Yeah had that too, here is a fix

but it forces you to use the Directx8 version of eq which is still sorta buggy.

Now I get to find out if my incredibly old and probably useless second machine will handle directx8. I already know it isn't Luclin compatible. Something about 233 celeron, 4 meg card, and 32 meg of RAM ;>

Oh well, back to rebuilding my old PII-300 ;>

Seriously though, when I got the second account it was mostly for tradeskills so I didn't really care about the speed and borrowed an old machine from the office.

Now, I would like to get my warrior up to snuff and use both characters together. Guess I have to start gathering pieces for a new machine. Off to Pricewatch I go. ;>
