This is a interesting show. All the episodes that i have watched so far been pretty good.

Its on hbo but u can watch them all on ninjavideo site.

Some of the episodes show a lot of skin. Ok they fuck everything that moves and what not.

Even with that knock on it i found it to have a reasonable store.

It's a great show. Don't ever go to IMDB, though. Shows based on a series of books of a different name, and all the book readers spoil stuff.

Vampire books/tv/movies usually suffer from at least one of the following:

Ann Rice Syndrome: This is the overly dramatic, woe is me I've lived for hundreds of years and I'm soooooo sad but uber powerful (and that is suuuuch a dangerous combination).

Goodie Two-Shoes: The Vampire that refuses to kill humans and either survives on animal blood or blood banks. The "Vampire with a conscience". Oh ya, he's uber powerful too and fights for Truth, Justice and the American Way!!

God Complex: The Vampire that has lived for hundreds or thousands of years and thinks that he/she is a God. Oh ya, super uber powerful too.

Most Vampire stories suffer from all of these. Some only suffer from one, but when its just one.. Whoo Boy, does it ever suffer from it.

Lastly, the one that thing that really irks me: What is it with Vampire movies/tv where the Vamp seems to have a need to open his mouth like he's about to swallow John Holmes and "bare his fangs" with a throaty exhale. Or worse... the director seems to have a need to input the sound of a lion or animal growl. That whole schtick is corny'er than an Iowa farm. The "look at me I have really big teeth!" stuff.

Ummm dude, that is all Anne Rice syndrome. You just named every story arc she ever had in the vampire chronicles....

Ya, they were all done in the Ann Rice books, but the Woe is me and the homo-erotic stuff is what she is primarily known for.

All the other stuff is a major part of the "other" vampire stories:
    TV:
    Forever Knight
    Kindred: The Embraced
    Buffy
    Angel
    Moonlight
    Dark Shadows

    Movies:
    Innocent Blood
    30 Days of Knight
    Underworld
    John Carpenters: Vampires
    Blade (I II and III)
    The Lost Boys
    The Hunger
From Dusk Till Dawn (Though I really enjoyed this movie)
    Interview with a Vampire
Queen of the Damned (Oooh, what a bad film)

If you want an interesting take on the Vampire theme, Guillermo Del Toro did a movie called Cronos.

Nah... I just wish someone would try something other than the crap listed above. there are many interesting Vampire stories, but producers and directors are too afraid to try something a little different.
