I want to figure out how to make this image support transparent backgrounds...anyone know how to do that?

When I'm editing it in Paint Shop Pro it has two layers...one with the text and effects in it, and the other that just has a 0% opacity...I was hoping that would do it but it hasn't seemed to work.

For a transparent background, you'll need to save the file out in either GIF or PNG format (GIF only supports up to 256 colors, so use PNG if your image really needs more).

There is a way to make the background color transparent (should be under a "transparency" menu item somewhere).

Ok yeah, I was playing around with it and realized that GIF supported transparent background...I posted a pic of it but I don't think shadows look good on a transparent background...looks kinda weird.

So, if you plan to use shadows then you should pick a background color to go with your text so the shadows look good.

Maybe just borders are better than shadows.

We should have a logo contest....one submission per person, all submissions are voted on by the entire guild, winner gets used for magelo backgrounds, item submissions screen shots, and put on the front page!

Oh, maybe they could get like...a fast horse or a pat on the back or something too

www.jasc.com for Paint Shop Pro. I've been using this since version 3, when it was barely more than a gif editor. No layers, nothing. It evolved more and more, and is pretty close to Photoshop now in features. I'm just so used to it, I can't use anything else. I don't have time right now, but I'll whip up some fun logos for you all.

I got Adobe Photoshop and ImageReady a couple weeks ago and been having a ball with it. Working with images and doing html, perl, java, and VB beats working off number crunch pitas with C,pascal,Delphi.

Here is something i just made, Might dink around with it later, wasn't much just a few filters and a little blending change.

I'll get around to installing Font folio when i have time, its great for fonts but man its pretty expensive.. (good thing i used to work for adobe /grin).
